In the luxury compact SUV category, two vehicles are leaders in the class. The 2017 Lincoln MKC and the 2017 Audi Q5 both offer drivers unmatched luxury, performance and style.
Let’s take a look at the 2017 Lincoln MKC vs. the 2017 Audi Q5 head to head to compare features.
The Lincoln MKC features a stylish split-front grille offering the look of open wings, culminating in HID headlights with LED running lights. The overall look is sleek with just enough muscle to make it sexy.
While the Audi offers a stylish look, its profile resembles a station wagon or 4-door hatchback more than an SUV. The front grille is classic Audi, and the overall look is poised if a bit conservative.
The Lincoln MKC seats five adults. The front seats are comfortable and supportive with plenty of headroom. The rear seat offers plenty of legroom. The cabin itself is well appointed with high-quality materials. The Lincoln MKC offers more than 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat. A power liftgate comes standard. An optional hands-free power liftgate is also available.
The Audi Q5 also seats five adults with standard power-adjustable front seats that are spacious. Unfortunately they don’t offer much in the way of side support or adjustment range. The interior offers a luxury car feel with a decent layout. Cargo space is comparable to the Lincoln.
The Lincoln MKC offers plenty of standard technology, including dual USB ports, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker audio system, satellite radio and SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch color touchscreen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Lincoln Connect in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot are all standard.
The Audi is decidedly technologically underwhelming with limited high-end touches like satellite radio, automatic climate control and a basic infotainment system. The infotainment system features a 6.5-inch screen that isn’t a touchscreen model and no USB ports.
The Lincoln MKC features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower for 28 miles per gallon on the highway. The Lincoln MKC comes standard with plenty of active safety features like stability control, a rear view camera and MyKey, which lets parents set parameters for young drivers.
The Audi’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 220 horsepower for a combined 22 miles per gallon. In terms of advanced safety features, you’ll need to upgrade to the Technology Package to get many features that come standard on the Lincoln.
With more power, an excellent technology package, advanced safety features standard and a lower entry price, Lincoln MKC clearly wins!
