If you’re looking for a mid-size luxury SUV, consider the 2017 Lincoln MKX vs. Lexus RX 350. Both offer upscale accommodations for the whole family, great style and performance. Let’s compare them side by side to see which is the better choice for you!
The Lincoln MKX seats five adults in multi-contour seats that offer plenty of cushioning and support. The rear seats offer plenty of leg and headroom. The Lincoln features an upscale interior with quality materials used throughout the cabin. It’s not only comfortable; it’s a quiet ride.
In fact, the Lincoln MKX boasts one of the quietest rides in its class! If you need to haul lots of sporting equipment or other gear, the Lincoln is a great choice with 37.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat. Plus, access is easy with the power-lift gate.
The RX 350 also seats five and comes standard with leatherette upholstery. There’s plenty of legroom in the rear and the outside rear seats recline, which is a nice feature. The cabin also features high-quality materials and a visually appealing design. Where the Lexus falls short is cargo space with one of the smallest cargo areas in the class – only 18.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats.
The Lincoln MKX received a five-star rating from the NHTSA and is an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2017. The base model comes standard with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. Available features include blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, active park assist and 360-degree surround view camera.
The Lexus received an NHTSA five-star rating in side crash tests and four stars in rollover tests. The RX 350 offers a standard safety package that includes a rearview camera and the Lexus Safety System, which includes forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian alert and lane keep assist.
The Lincoln MKX has one of the lowest base prices in its class at $38,260. The top-of-the-line Black Label starts at $53.475.
The RX 350 starts at $43,120 with the F Sport series starting at $50,420.
The Lexus delivers good value for the price, but the Lincoln starts at $5,000 less, delivers a well-appointed interior, higher safety ratings and a lot more cargo space. The Lincoln MKX is definitely the better choice.
