The 2017 Lincoln MKZ and the 2017 Buick LaCrosse are both luxury four-door American sedans with distinctive styling. The MKZ also has an extra-powerful engine with a fuel-efficient hybrid model available at the same starting price as the standard. Here’s some more information about how the MKZ and the LaCrosse compare to each other.
The 2017 MKZ hybrid combines a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack for 41 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. The standard front-wheel-drive version gets 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The MKZ is also available with all-wheel-drive and a V6 engine with 400 horsepower. A comparable 2017 LaCrosse has a V6 engine with only 310 horsepower.
Comfort and Convenience
The MKZ and the LaCrosse both have comfortable leather seats that make stressful commutes a lot easier, and they give people a quiet, smooth ride. Heated seats are standard in the MKZ and optional in the LaCrosse. Here are some more features the Lincoln and the Buick both offer:
- Automatic parallel parking
- Extra storage below the center console
- Voice-activated technology
- Keyless entry
- Push-button start
- 8-inch touchscreen
The MKZ also has Lincoln Drive Control with a choice of Normal, Sport or Comfort modes. You can choose different settings for your shocks, your transmission’s shift points, your traction control and your throttle and steering response.
The 2017 MKZ and the 2017 LaCrosse are both sleek and luxurious, and their grilles easily get the attention of onlookers. If you look closely, the MKZ’s grille looks like a huge group of Lincoln insignias, while the symbol on the LaCrosse’s grille is in color for the first time in the U.S.
The stitching on the MKZ’s leather seats looks like large Lincoln insignias as well, and the long, thin-looking tail and brake lights cover the back of the sedan, adding to its high-tech look. The back of the LaCrosse is rather unremarkable, which makes it very tough to find in a parking lot. However, it does have an attractive chrome accent below the front grille.
Whether you’re looking for power, comfort, or fuel efficiency, the 2017 Lincoln MKZ has what you need. Many convenient features are available from competitors, but you won’t find all the MKZ’s great perks in a similarly priced sedan.
