It can be very difficult to choose a new car today, especially with all of the new luxury models on the market. Both Cadillac and Lincoln recently unveiled their newest luxury offerings, giving buyers much to think about.
At Sanderson Lincoln, we know that making a choice can be tough, so here are some things to consider while researching a new Lincoln or Cadillac.
The Cadillac CT6 has a bit of a European look, while the new Lincoln Continental is going more retro, giving car buyers an old school vibe that is reminiscent of the great Lincoln cars in the company’s prestigious history. The Lincoln offers a bit more of a classic American look, and the Continental truly separates itself from the rest of Lincoln’s lineup.
The Cadillac’s interior cell is pushed towards the rear wheels which give it less trunk space and a longer hood. This is another European trait. It’s a concept used on various sports sedans today.
The Lincoln Continental focuses more on passenger luxury than the “performance look.” It has a transversely mounted engine layout, front-wheel drive, and plenty of room inside. It is available in all-wheel drive, too.
The Continental also has very intriguing door handles (the E-latch door system which has a small button that unlocks the door electronically), simple lines and a host of subtle details along the body which make it quite unique.
Inside, there are some major differences between these two vehicles. The Cadillac has a dynamic dash and center console that unites the armrest with an entire cluster of different shapes and materials. Cadillac’s 2016 model did not depart much from their existing model designs.
However, the Lincoln’s interior is much more elegant. It offers simple lines and a no nonsense center console that sports a gear shift that doesn’t disrupt the car’s interior flow.
The Lincoln Continental has blue Alcantara trim with a generous use of leather and chrome. The Lincoln also boasts features like 30-way adjustable rear seats so everyone can be comfortable in their own unique way.
